Family Lifestyle with MJ
Hey y’all, I’m Matthew!
I’m a Florida native and visual storyteller raised in Southwest Florida, now lucky enough to call Santa Rosa Beach home. I’ve been adventuring along the Gulf Coast with a camera in hand since the late 90s, learning how to chase the perfect light and capture the good things in life. My path to family photography was a bit unique. Spending years as a Master Captain,
I discovered my knack for portraits while capturing families sharing unforgettable moments out on the water.
a peak into my life

Common Questions
Where are you located?
We offer our family sessions along the Emerald Coast of Florida in the Santa Rosa Beach - 30A area. We also love to venture outside of our neighborhood beaches to explore the beautiful coast. Please reach out if you'd like to discuss a different location as we love any excuse to pack our camera bags and explore!
Where should we meet?
Upon inquiring for your future photo session, please let us know the area in which you'll be staying. From there, we will plan together on the best location to achieve the desired photos. Our service area covers Santa Rosa Beach, 30A, Miramar, Destin, and Fort Walton Beach Florida.
What should we wear for our photos?
We always recommend natural and earthy tones for color coordination because they complement everyone's skin tones beautifully. For a beach session, we recommend casual beach attire since many of our sessions turn into fun beach adventures! Light, flowy dresses are perfect for a breezy beach day, offering comfort and movement that looks stunning in photos.
For the gentlemen, we suggest simple, fitted t-shirts or button-downs in neutral or pastel colors. Soft shades of light blues, sage greens, and tans look fantastic, as well as classic white or black. Khaki pants, shorts, or even jeans (during cooler months) are always a great choice. Earth tones are our all-time favorite, as they provide a timeless and natural look that complement our natural beach settings.
